RCME at its Best
Community Service - Development
Lending a hand to help the underserved, addressing concerns not adequately resolved by appropriate authorities and investing in solutions that leave a lasting impact. The 50 school rebuilding project worth 35 million rupees and the Smart Classroom project valued at 15 million Rupees are just two recent endeavours.
Youth Services
Our Interact and Rotaract bring us hosannas with their active engagement with the community be it participation in our varied initiatives or spearheading programmes by themselves. Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) brings to the forefront their enthusiasm that seems contagious. With Wings To Fly moving to this avenue, there will be greater buzz.
Club Service
The focus is in engaging the members and their spouses as one large and happy Rotary family. We have stretched that example to the entire district using cricket as the muse with our month-long Paul Harris Cricket Carnival that binds cricket loving Rotarians from city clubs and Fireside meets and Tours are making our club one big family.
Vocational Service
Club stays passionately committed to skilling and providing employment opportunities to those left behind by an unforgiving system. Our Vocational Excellence Centre and the Bheemannapet Community College are two such projects that have seen great traction.
The Rotary Foundation
All the great work that happens in the Rotary world is mostly financed by The Rotary Foundation. Member contributions, individual and corporate donations have built the foundation the formidable front that always gives. Campaigns as compelling as Drive Polio are the result of a singular effort from TRF. Our club contribution over the years has surpassed a million dollars.
International Service
We are seen participating in third country initiatives as in Uganda but we partner international clubs as much in getting them to invest their resources in India on Global Grant Projects. Sister club arrangements and regular meetings in both countries bolster this relationship.
Community Service - Health
Amongst our biggest forays, this has seen us invest heavily in beefing hospital infrastructure providing affordable healthcare, run a 16 bed dialysis centre at the PHC in Nungambakkam, help give life to 500 poor children suffering from congenital heart disease and eyesight to 300 using smart AI assisted vision gadgets.
Environmental Service
This might will be a new avenue in Rotary but in the last 30 years we have been creating global awareness through seminars on Green Earth, Sustainable Development, Water Management and Biomass. We have taken up Miyawaki forest growth. We have restored many a lake to its pristine beauty with stunning results. A nutri-garden in the heart of the city is the talk of the town.
Membership Development
Growth is the hallmark of every organisation. Rotary hasn’t grown enough. The world will be a better place if it would. Gender equity is another measure of the growth metrics were much more needs to be done. For a first we have a woman as Rotary International President. It augers well, and we are excited.
